Does Reading Increase Our Vocabulary?

Words are our most powerful creation. They have the power to build us up or tear us down. They fuel our brains. They’re free. And on top of all that, we have the power to choose them.

Words form our attitudes. And, our attitudes form our reality. Therefore, when we enrich our vocabulary, we enrich our lives. In fact, they dictate our future. We become our words.

Thus, if we want to change our lives we must first change our words which will change our attitudes. However, if we don’t respect their power, we deny ourselves the ability to change.

Speak In Numbers

We can’t be vague. To speak our best we need accuracy. Using numbers in our language makes us more accurate. In fact, the person who thinks big but not accurately fails. But, the person who thinks more accurately, thinks bigger. An investor, a scientist, an intellectual speaks in numbers as much as they can.

Words Of The Rich

Words have the power to make us rich or make us poor. Since knowledge begins with words and knowledge is money, then money begins with words. In fact, it doesn’t take money to make money. Money begins with our words.

We can’t conceptualize what we have no words to describe. The rich use rich words. The middle class uses middle-class words. And, the poor use poor words.

Knowing the language of money, and having command of that language, is how we learn the concepts of what money really is and how it works.

Having a poor person’s vocabulary will keep us poor. Because using poor words creates poor thoughts which leads a poor life. We become victims and slaves if we don’t know, understand, and use the words the wealthy use.

Just like the poor and the middle class have their words, the rich have words that set them apart. They use words such as:

  1. Derivative
  2. Cashflow
  3. Cap rate
  4. Mitigate

And phrases such as:

  1. I’m looking for good employees.
  2. I’m looking for a cash-flowing hundred-unit apartment house to buy.
  3. My exit strategy is to take my company public via an IPO.

The good news is that the more words we understand, the more concepts we understand. And once we understand the concepts, the more money we’ll make simply because we know how to speak the language of the rich.

In Conclusion

To change our lives, we must change our words. So, speak the words of your dreams, of who you want to become and not the words of fear and failure.

To your success,
